On 4th September 2025, Mr. Machetti Harshith, Final Year MBBS student (Batch of 2021), Kakatiya Medical College, Hanumakonda ,donated his blood stem cells at Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital, Hyderabad .
Stem cell matches are extremely rare—only 1 in several lakhs—yet Harshith’s match gave a patient with Isolated Myeloid Sarcoma a new lease of life.
🙏 His noble act is an inspiration to all young medicos and a shining example of how science and compassion together can save lives.

🚴♀️ Inauguration of the MBBS Bicycle Club
We are proud to announce the inauguration of the Bicycle Club for MBBS students, a vibrant initiative aimed at promoting wellness, sustainability, and camaraderie among future healthcare professionals.
The club was formally launched by Dr. S. Sandhya, Principal, and Dr. Kathyayini, Warden of the UG Girls Hostel, in a spirited ceremony that celebrated the values of fitness, freedom, and community. Their presence and encouragement mark a significant step toward fostering a culture of active living and holistic development on campus.
The Bicycle Club will serve as a platform for students to engage in regular cycling activities, awareness drives, and eco-conscious outreach, reinforcing the message that health begins with movement.

Anti-Ragging Day Pledge Ceremony
A pledge ceremony was held on August 13, 2025, at the Anatomy Lecture Hall, Kakatiya Medical College, to mark Anti-Ragging Day.

🩺 Medical Camp Organized by KMC Alumni and Final-Year Students
A comprehensive medical camp was conducted on August 10, 2025, focusing on general health check-ups and seasonal illnesses, at the following locations:

📍 Takallagudem & Narlapur Villages, Mulugu District

World Breastfeeding Week 2025: Awareness Walkathon by Sevaarth Club
As part of the World Breastfeeding Week 2025 celebrations, the Sevaarth Club of Kakatiya Medical College organized a 4-kilometre Breastfeeding Awareness Walkathon from the Kakatiya medical college main gate to Public Garden, Hanamkonda.
The event was flagged off by Dr. S. Sandhya, Principal of Kakatiya Medical College, who emphasized the critical role of early initiation and exclusive breastfeeding in reducing infant mortality. She highlighted the importance of colostrum as the "first vaccine" and encouraged community-wide awareness to support breastfeeding practices.The walkathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and healthcare professionals.
A key focus of the event was to raise awareness about the Human Milk Bank at Government Maternity Hospital, Hanamkonda, which provides life-saving donor milk to premature and critically ill newborns.
The initiative reflected the college’s ongoing commitment to public health education and maternal-child wellness.
As per the guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC), a special session was conducted on "Ethics Awareness Programme," for postgraduate students of all specialities at Kakatiya Medical College (KMC), Hanumakonda on Tuesday, July 29.
The program was held at the NRI Auditorium under the leadership of KMC Principal Dr. Sandhya Sunkaraneni. The guest speakers Dr. V.Naresh Kumar (Chairman, PR Committee, TGMC) and Dr. M. Seshu Madhav (Member, Ethics Committee), conducted the ethics session.
Speaking on the occasion, they emphasized that junior doctors must provide value-based medical care and adhere to the guidelines laid down by the NMC and TGMC, delivering healthcare with compassion and humanity to society.
Over 500 postgraduate junior doctors participated in the event.
At the conclusion of the program, Dr.V. Naresh Kumar and Dr.M. Seshu Madhav were felicitated by JUDA members in a grand manner.
Kakatiya Medical College successfully conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) Workshop, organized by the Sevaarth Club in collaboration with the Department of Anaesthesia on 19/07/2025 at NRI AUDITORIUM.
The event was inaugurated by our Principal, Dr. S. Sandhya Ma’am
The workshop focused on core life-saving topics, including:
• Scene safety and the chain of survival
• High-quality CPR and AED application
• Paediatric and neonatal resuscitation
• Seizure response, choking relief, and recovery positioning

The highlight of the day was the high-quality hands-on CPR training, where students practiced crucial emergency techniques under expert supervision.
