ABOUT Kakatiya Medical College
Founded in 1959 by the Warangal Regional Medical Education Society, Kakatiya Medical College was established with the active support of the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, the Director of Medical Services of A.P., and the Warangal District Collector, Mohsin Bin Shabbir. Shabbir's contribution is commemorated at the main entrance of the college with the quote, "The Earth sometimes bears gems and here is one."
The college was officially inaugurated on July 23, 1959, by P. Karmarkar, the Minister of Health, Government of India. Initially housed in a building donated by the Pingale family at Waddepally, KMC moved to its permanent site in November 1961, where a makeshift building was constructed to accommodate the growing needs of the institution.
KMC continues to uphold its mission of providing exceptional medical education to students from the Telangana region, fostering a new generation of healthcare professionals committed to excellence and innovation.
