Discussion on Research in Medical Department
MGM Paper, News Today: Principal Dr. Sandhya informed that the research department of Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) has discussed the changes in medical science, various diseases, and the measures being taken for the challenging viruses with officials from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Dr. Sandhya participated in the National Health Mission-25 conference held for two days on November 20 and 21 in Delhi, themed 'One Nation - One Health'. During the conference, discussions covered research being undertaken for the prevention of newly emerging diseases and viruses in the health sector, as well as precautions the public should take, she mentioned.
Those who participated in the conference included MRU Nodal Officer Dr. Y. Srinivas, members Dr. Srikumar, scientists Dr. G. Krishna, Dr. J. Phanikanth, and representatives of international health organizations.

On a crisp morning at Kakatiya Medical College, Principal Dr. S.Sandhya inaugurated the
"Cadaveric Memorial Ceremony" a poignant tribute to the selfless individuals who donated their bodies to science. Over 250 medical students, faculty, and families gathered to honour these
“silent teachers,” whose generosity will shape the next generation of healers.
"A Gift of Compassion"
Dr. Sandhya emphasized the ceremony’s significance: “These donors didn’t just give their
bodies—they gifted hope. Every dissection, every lesson learned, echoes their altruism.” The
event marked the start of the anatomy curriculum, where students engage with cadavers to
master human anatomy.
The Science Behind
Cadaveric dissection bridges theory and practice. “Touching the human body teaches
precision,” explained Dr. K.Shashikantha . “It’s the foundation of compassionate care.
🕊️ Vande Mataram @150: Commemoration Ceremony Held at KMC
In honour of the 150th Anniversary of Vande Mataram, Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) proudly hosted a commemorative programme on 7th November 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Main Building, as per the directive of the Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana.
The event featured the mass singing of the authorised version of Vande Mataram, bringing together faculty, staff, and students in a moment of patriotic unity and reverence.

Blood donation camp as part of KMC Annual celebration festival Uthkarsha 2025
BCME(Basic course in Medical Education) training conducted by Department of MEDICAL education unit KMC from 15/10/25-17/10/25. It was inaugurated by Dr S Sandhya Principal, Dr V Geeta Convenor of MEU. Around 30 faculty members from different medical colleges have attended and got trained.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in collaboration with all NELS centers  organizing a CPR awareness week from 13th-17th October, 2025.
As per the schedule the NELS centre of KMC started CPR program which is inaugurated by honourable principal Dr.Sandhya Anil .
The program started with pledge at 10.30am 13/10/2025 by the union ministry of health and family welfare. After that Started COLS demonstration for Students of Kakatiya medical college , Hanamkonda, warangal .More than 250 students Attended. International Alumni Convention

Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) Principal, Dr. Sandhya Sunkaraneni, proudly represented the institution at the OGKTMA (Osmania, Gandhi, Kakatiya & Telangana Medical Alumni) Annual Convention 2025, held on 6th September 2025 at Louisville Marriot East, Louisville, Kentucky, USA.

As part of the event, Dr. Sandhya participated in the poster launch of KRITI–2025 (Kakatiya Research Initiative for Transformative Innovations), a prestigious national-level academic fest organized annually by the Alumni to encourage and nurture research culture among medical students. KRITI–2025 is tentatively scheduled for the end of this year.

Addressing the international gathering, Dr. Sandhya appreciated the Alumni’s consistent efforts in strengthening KMC and expressed gratitude for their continuous support. She also outlined her vision for the institution’s future, including the establishment of a Pain Clinic for hospice care, infrastructure development with improved hostels , and mentorship support for students aspiring for USMLE and international opportunities.

The NRI Alumni extended their strong support for these initiatives and reaffirmed their commitment to the growth and development of KMC.
